Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations
Established in 2001, the .NAME top-level domain name extension is the only one supposed to be for personal sites only. These domain names can be personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other labels people are famous by. At first, only third-level registrations were allowed, so if you desired to secure john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already taken 3rd-level domain names remained functional.

You will be able to edit the WHOIS contact info, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our firm if you acquire its EPP transfer authorization key from the present domain provider and we will renew it once the transfer has been finalized. There are no particular prerequisites on who can purchase a dot NAME domain name, but in order to preserve the objective behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain, the registration may be challenged.
